Showcase Shenandoah! Spectacular Geology of the Central Appalachians

The 2025 Meeting of the Southeastern Section of GSA will be held in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on 20-21 March. Harrisonburg is located on the world-class karst geology in the Shenandoah Valley of the Valley and Ridge province, and offers easy access to the Blue Ridge, Piedmont, and Allegheny plateau. Hotel Madison is the meeting site, and it is next to the historic Bluestone area of James Madison University and just a short walk to the popular restaurants, breweries, shops, and other historic and cultural attractions of downtown Harrisonburg.

Location

Harrisonburg is conveniently located along I-81 and roughly 15 miles from the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (SHD), and there is daily coach bus service from JMU to the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on the Virginia Breeze.
