Results of the 2023 Research Grant Program:

~$703,684 was awarded to 297 graduate students in 2023, with 57 percent of applicants receiving funds. The average grant amount was $2,234.

Farouk El-Baz Student Research Grant

This grant is to encourage and support desert studies by students either in their senior year of their undergraduate studies, or at the masters or Ph.D. level.

We generally do not offer scholarships to be used for tuition, housing, etc., nor do we assist students in seeking acceptance into graduate school. Please contact individual universities for information on their financial aid programs.
