In October 2022, GSA Council approved a new position statement, Responsible Geologic Fieldwork Practices, and a major revision to the Geosciences and Energy Policy position statement. Minor revisions to three statements were also approved: Data Access, Geoscience Data Preservation, and Improving Natural Hazards Policies and Response through Geoscience. GSA members are encouraged to use the statements as geoscience communication tools when interacting with policymakers, students, colleagues, and the general public.
