The National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT) Outstanding Earth Science Teacher (OEST) Awards are managed by NAGT, with additional funding and support provided by the Geological Society of America (GSA).
This annual award recognizes excellence in earth-science teaching at the pre-college level. GSA awards the section recipients with a complimentary K-12 membership in GSA for three years, a complimentary membership in the GSA Geoscience Education Division for three years, and US$700 in travel money to attend a GSA Annual Meeting or Section Meeting (must be used by the end of the calendar year that follows the year in which the award was made; an approximately 18-month window). State winners receive a complimentary K-12 membership in GSA for one year and a complimentary membership in the GSA Geoscience Education Division for one year.
