The Geological Society of America provides a global forum for knowledge-sharing and networking among geoscientists. Serving members in over 95 countries, GSA programs unite the global science community in shaping the future of the Earth sciences. Wherever you live or work, GSA invites you to become involved by joining our network.

Section Memebrship

Note that new GSA membership options allow you to be a member of more than one Section. So if you were a member of one of the North American Sections, you can choose to continue that membership and add an International Section membership. If you have been previously unaffiliated with a geographic Section, you can join the International Section at no cost.

Everyone gets one free Section membership - additional affiliations cost US$2.

We have multiple purposes:

GSA/GSL Student support for 3rd YES Congress 2014

and the Geological Society of London are offering travel assistance to African students and early career geoscientists to attend the 3rd and the 25th 2014. Funds will be distributed in two parts. Upon notification of receipt of the award the societies will provide 75% of the funds. The remaining 25% may be collected at the conference. Young Earth Scientists (YES) Congress Colloquium of African Geology (CAG25) to be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 11-16 August. Apply by 30 May.

GSA seeks to be a leader in promoting programs that actively involve the global community in geoscience activities, in fulfillment of our strategic goals. This tour is another step forward in communicating the importance and relevance of the geosciences in a global context.
