Geology in Government

Held only at GSA's Annual Meetings, this free event connects geoscience mentors associated with public policy to GSA's student members in an informal Q&A luncheon setting. A FREE LUNCH is provided for students. Students registered for the Annual Meeting receive a free ticket to this event with their badge packet.
The mentors are a panel of professional geoscientists who represent a broad spectrum of government agencies and other positions associated with public policy.
The mentors, who invite Q&As from students, discuss topics such as:
- The current and anticipated future role of geoscientists within each mentor's particular government segment.
- Discussion of interesting or highly visible geoscience projects currently in progress.
- Current and future job opportunities within each mentor's agency. How and who to contact for additional information.
