Cultural and Convention Centre,
Middle East Technical University

Middle East Technical University (METU), a state university founded in 1956, currently has about 23,000 students, of which 4,100 are pursuing master’s degrees and 2,400 are in doctorate programs. METU is one of Turkey's most competitive universities, and English is the language of instruction at METU. Located on the Ankara Eskişehir highway, the METU campus covers 4500 hectares, with a large forested area, including Lake Eymir, nearby. The lake is used by METU students for rowing, fishing, and other recreational activities. Bus service is provided from METU to the lake.
The Cultural and Convention Centre of METU, which encompasses the most recent technological facilities, is designed to host local and international conventions, seminars, meetings, conferences, concerts, and related activities. The centre consists of nine halls, two foyers, a restaurant, and support and service units.

Esenboga Airport (ESB), which serves some international but mostly domestic flights, is 33 km (21 mi) north of Ankara’s city center. The airport bus runs every 30 minutes from 4:30 a.m. to midnight (for about a 50-minutes to trip), and taxi service also runs from the airport to Ankara.
