How to get to GFZ Potsdam
Get an ABC Ticket (2,60 €) from a vending machine at the station or from the bus driver and stamp it (!) on the platform or in the bus. Take the railway or S-Bahn trains to Potsdam Hbf (Central Station).
Leave Potsdam Hbf through the bus terminus and keep south, cross Friedrich-Engels-Str. and Heinrich-Mann-Allee, continue uphill along Brauhausberg and follow Albert-Einstein-Straße to its end. The approximate walking time is 20 minutes. Taxi takes approximately 10 minutes. A bus shuttle operates between Potsdam Hbf and Telegrafenberg in the morning and in the late afternoon.
From Tegel (TXL) take Bus X9 (Destination Bahnhof Zoo) to Bahnhof Zoo, then change to S-Bahn S7 (Destination Potsdam Hbf.) or regional train RE1 (Destination Brandenburg/Magdeburg) to Potsdam Hbf.
From Tempelhof (THF) take U-Bahn U6 (Destination Alt-Tegel) to Friedrichstrasse, then change to S-Bahn S7 (Destination Potsdam Hbf.) or regional train RE1 (Destination Brandenburg/Magdeburg) to Potsdam Hbf.
From Schönefeld (SXF) take S-Bahn 45 (Destination Herrmanstraße) to Herrmannstraße, then S41 Ring to Westkreuz. At Westkreuz change to S-Bahn S7 to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof. There is also a direct train (RB22) and express coach connection from Schönefeld to Potsdam Hbf.

From Berlin take B1 from Berlin-Wannsee or the motorway "Autobahn" A115 to Hannover/Leipzig, Exit Potsdam-Babelsberg; follow the signs to "Zentrum", "Landtag" and "GeoForschungsZentrum".
From Hannover or Leipzig on motorway "Autobahn A110/E30", take exit "Potsdam-Süd/Michendorf" to Potsdam follow the B2 northbound, turn right at "Am Brauhausberg" till "Albert-Einstein-Strasse".
From Hamburg or Rostock on motorway "A10/E55", take exit "Marquardt" to Potsdam along B273, follow in Potsdam the signs to "Zentrum" and "Landtag" to "Albert-Einstein-Strasse".

Travel Support Available
Students, post-doctoral researchers and assistant professors (US institutions only) are eligible for National Science Foundation (Division of Earth Sciences) support for costs related to travel, lodging (no meals) and registration for participation in the upcoming Geoinformatics 2008 Conference in Potsdam, Germany.
