Lecturer (two positions), Towson University

The Geosciences Program in the Department of Physics, Astronomy & Geosciences (PAGS) at Towson University in Towson, Maryland, is looking to fill two full-time lecturer positions, one permanent and one temporary (one-year), for the 2018-19 academic year. The positions will require teaching 12 contact hours of coursework weekly per semester. The successful candidate will be expected to teach GEOL 121 Physical Geology, both lecture and laboratory components as well as other upper and lower level geology courses. High priority courses include GEOL 123 Historical Geology (lecture + lab), GEOL 305 Environmental Geology (lecture + lab), GEOL 321 Structural Geology (lecture + lab), GEOL 357 Physical Oceanography (lecture only), and GEOL 415 Hydrogeology (lecture + lab). In addition to their teaching responsibilities, lecturers are required to contribute 20 % of their time toward service or research duties, commensurate with the department’s goals. Competitive candidates for a Lecturer position should hold at least a Master’s degree in Geology or closely-related discipline.
