Assistant Professor, Geology, California Lutheran University

California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in Geology to begin Fall 2018. The Department of Geology at Cal Lutheran is a small department with excellent resources and a commitment to a field-based curriculum. The Department is also a major contributor to the growing Environmental Science program in both courses and resources.

Candidates must possess a Ph. D. degree in Geology. Teaching responsibilities will include both introductory lecture and lab courses as well as advanced undergraduate courses in the individual’s area of expertise. The successful candidate must be able to teach Physical and Historical Geology and one or more of the following: Paleontology, Mineralogy, Igneous/Metamorphic Petrology, or Water Resources. Additional duties will include advising students, developing a program of research that engages undergraduate students, participating in department activities and ongoing program development, serving on committees, and establishing collaborative relationships within the University and the broader community.
