Two Graduate Student Opportunities, New Mexico Tech
Two graduate research assistant positions are available in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science at New Mexico Tech, beginning in summer or fall 2017.
M.S. research in computational geochemistry
This project involves the development of Python-based tools to model kinetic isotope exchange. We seek applicants with programming experience, thus individuals with backgrounds in applied computer science or applied mathematics are encouraged to apply.
Ph.D. research in thermal and fluid histories of detachments
This project combines field-based structural and lab-based petrologic research to characterize thermal and fluid histories along metamorphic core complex detachments. Primary research methodologies will be fieldwork and various forms of in situ microanalysis.
