To be considered for the Annual Meeting travel grant, the student must:

  1. Be a Student Member of GSA.
  2. Be enrolled in an academic department within the North-Central Section (see boundaries).
  3. Be registered for the GSA Annual Meeting (priority will be given to students presenting oral or poster papers).
  4. Complete the online Section Travel Grant Application Form (available during the registration period from the meeting announcement).
  5. FOLLOW-UP REQUIREMENTS:
Complete the faculty certification and expense estimate form. You will find a link to this PDF form on the e-mail confirmation you receive after completing the online application in step 4.
You must complete both forms in order to be considered for a grant.
Mail or fax (before travel grant deadline) to:
      John Szabo
      Dept. Earth & Environmental Sciences
      University of Akron
      Akron, OH 44325-4101
      fax: 330-972-7611.
Grant recipients must pick up their reimbursement checks in person with photo ID at the meeting.
Notification of grant status will be made prior to the cancellation deadline, so if your attendance is dependent on receipt of a travel grant and you do not receive it, you may obtain a full registration refund.
