- CURRICULUM VITAE
- Required for all medals and awards.
Suggested sources: American Men and Women of Science; Who's Who in America; GSA Service Record (obtainable from headquarters)
- Required for all medals and awards.
- NOMINATION LETTER
- Summary of scientific contributions to geology and to the Society. 300 words or less.
(Required for all awards except for Subaru Outstanding Woman in Science Award.) - Full letter of nomination and supporting materials including dissertation title and abstract (Subaru Outstanding Woman in Science only).
- Summary of scientific contributions to geology and to the Society. 300 words or less.
- SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY
- 20 titles or less (Penrose, Day, Honorary Fellows)
- 10 titles or less (Young Scientist, Public Service, Subaru Outstanding Woman in Science)
- Optional (Distinguished Service, Bromery Award)
- LETTERS OF SUPPORT
- Nominations must be supported by signed letters (or electronic signatures) IN ADDITION to the person making the nomination. Supporting letters must discuss candidates qualifications with regard to the specific criteria listed for the medal or award.
- Letters from five (5) GSA Fellows or Members (Penrose, Honorary Fellows).
- Letters from five (5) scientists with at least three (3) supporting letters from GSA Fellows or Members and two (2) from members of other professional Geoscience organizations (Day Medal).
- Letters from five (5) scientists (Young Scientist).
- Letters from three (3) scientists with at least two (2) from GSA Fellows or Members and one (1) from a member of another professional geoscience organization (Bromery Award).
- Optional (Distinguished Service, Public Service, Subaru Outstanding Woman in Science).
