CNSF Announces Fall Visits to Capitol Hill

The Coalition for National Science Funding is again organizing Hill visits on 18-19 September, focused on advocating for the National Science Foundation. Scientists, educators, and engineers are invited to participate in the final push for FY 2008 NSF Appropriations & continued Hill education on the agency’s broad science and education portfolio. Interested volunteers should contact Jack Hess, GSA Executive Director, by Thursday, 23 August.

Panel Seeks Input

The Panel on Energy and Mineral Resources, operating under the auspices of the Geology and Public Policy Committee, requests comments and suggestions from GSA members, sections, associated and allied societies, and other interested parties, on this proposed GSA Position Statement on Government’s Role in Energy and Mineral Resources. The Paleobiology Database is organized and operated by a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional, international group of paleobiological researchers. It provides global, collection-based occurrence and taxonomic data for marine and terrestrial animals and plants of any geological age, as well as web-based software for statistical analysis of the data.
