PARKING

There is a charge for parking on campus Monday-Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Conference guests, staff and exhibitors are responsible for paying for their own parking. Guests with handicap parking placards will still need to pay for parking on campus.

Parking rates are $3 for a daily permit valid in all commuter lots (green lots coded as SB on parking map) except Reserved and hourly pay parking. The two S/B lots closest to the Strand Union Building are lots #10 and #11. In addition, there is a pay-as-you-go parking lot adjacent to the Strand Union Building with a maximum daily rate of $7.50 (blue lots coded as Pay Parking on parking map).

Parking permits may be purchased from the University Police, located on the corner of S. 7th Ave and Kagy Blvd, or at the information kiosk located on the corner of S. 7th Ave and Grant. Visitor parking is also available in the Hourly Pay Lot on the corner of S. 7th Ave and Grant.

TRAVEL

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport is the largest airport in Montana (in terms of passengers per year) and offers direct flights to and from major airline hubs in Denver, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, and Seattle. Also, as airports go, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport is really beautiful. Check out the Archean gneiss on the airport walls, dinosaur casts, and other wildlife displays as you pass through!

WEATHER

Weather in southwest Montana can be highly variable during May, ranging from warm and sunny (we hope!) to heavy snow on the valley floor. We highly recommend that participants look at National Weather Service forecasts during the days preceding the meeting and then plan accordingly. Regardless of the forecast, however, a coat is always recommended for cool mornings and evenings in Bozeman. For those participating in pre- and post-meeting field trips, it is highly recommended that you be prepared for mixed weather conditions.
