Opportunities for Students
The local committee and officers of GSA's Cordilleran and Rocky Mountain sections would like to extend the opportunity for free registration to a limited number of students. We rely on student volunteers to help meetings run smoothly, and we are pleased to offer student volunteers free registration for the meeting in return for ~6 hours of volunteer work.
Deadline for volunteering: 1 February 2008.
Contact Rod Metcalf, , for more information.
Awards will be given for best student oral (undergraduate or graduate) and poster (undergraduate only) presentations. To be eligible, students must be lead authors and presenters, and they should clearly identify their abstracts as student work.
Travel grants will be available for a limited number of students who are presenting papers (oral or poster) at the meeting.
Only students who are currently enrolled and are members of the relevant section may apply for support. Not a member? Join Now. If you're already a member, don't forget to renew for 2008. Also, you must be registered for the meeting before applying for the grant.
Travel Grants Application Deadline: 11 February 2008.
For more information, contact your Section Secretary.

Student Field Trip Grants
Student Field Trip Grants Application Deadline: 11 February 2008.
Due to conservative budgeting and good attendance at the last several meetings, the Section is able to offer limited field trip subsidies to students to facilitate first-hand experience in areas of interest to them. Students who register for field trips can also apply for a Field Trip Grant, which will reimburse 50% of the field trip registration cost, on a first-come, first-served basis for the funds available. Checks will be available at the meeting.
These mentor programs are sponsored by GSA Foundation and include free meals for all participants.
