Do you want an afternoon that is fun and different?
Are you looking for a way to explore your artistic side?
Watercolor & Wine is an upbeat creative class for everyone. Learn the basics of watercolor painting while enjoying the company of friends and a glass of wine. A professional instructor will guide you step by step through the process of creating a finished painting. The two-hour class is designed for the beginning watercolorist, but all levels of artists are invited to participate. It's fun, easy, and stress free. You will go home with a painting you can call uniquely yours and maybe a new-found talent to explore.
Letitia Hess’ journey into art started through the door of calligraphy. In 1981, she took her first calligraphy class, which was offered at UNLV through their continuing education department. For the next five years, she took every class offered connected to calligraphy. The love of watercolor was born in an illumination class for calligraphy. This new love led to more classes in art at UNLV and the community college, but the most learning came from enrolling in watercolor workshops. For the next 10 years, Hess took a string of workshops. They were intense three- to five-day classes taught by noted artists. These classes led to a new love — art books! Hess created a large library, and this library has become her university. She continues to expand her knowledge, her library, and her love of art.
Hess is an active member of several Colorado art organizations, exhibiting her work throughout the area in juried art shows and Art in Public Places venues. Her art can be viewed at www.theartsideofme.com.
