Short Courses & Workshops

A variety of Short Courses are offered by GSA as well as other organizations. All courses will be held immediately before and during the annual meeting and are open to members and nonmembers. Student scholarships are available.

Cancellation Deadline: 19 Sept. 2006

Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Service

All professional development courses and workshops sponsored by GSA offer CEUs. A CEU is made up of 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. A contact hour is defined as a typical 60-minute classroom instructional session or its equivalent; ten instructional hours are required for one CEU.

If you register only for a short course, you must pay a US$40 nonregistrant fee in addition to the course fee. This fee may be applied toward meeting registration if you decide to attend the meeting. Excepted from this requirement are GSA K–12 Teacher Members, who need only pay the short course fee if not attending the entire meeting. Early registration is recommended; standard registration (after 19 Sept.) is an additional US$30.

A special day is planned for K-12 Teachers including a Field Trip, Workshop, and the Share-a-thon.

Researchers: Plan to attend our FREE annual grant proposal writing workshop.

Subaru of America, Inc.

A special Subaru of America Registration Grant is available to Pennsylvania graduate students and two-year college faculty that will cover one-half of the meeting registration fee (not for course/workshop fees).
