an event for St. Louis-area teachers

GSA has provided travel grants to bring nine outstanding teachers from evolution "hot spots" to this special event at the AAAS Annual Meeting in St. Louis. The goal is to give science teachers a voice on the issue as well as new strategies to use in their schools and communities.

Subaru Outstanding Woman in Science Award
Nominations are due by 1 February 2006.
This prestigious award honors women who make a major impact on the geosciences, based on their Ph.D. research. Women are eligible for three years following their degree. A $2500 cash award will be presented at the GSA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, in October 2006.
Established in 2001, in partnership with Subaru and in memory of Doris M. Curtis (GSA’s 103rd and first female president), GSA presents the annual award to encourage women in the geosciences.
